Purpose of the content
Ridge Rundown publishes general information about outdoor equipment: how it is made, how it behaves in different conditions, and how to look after it. The content is educational. It is written to help you ask better questions of a product page, not to replace your own judgement.
No personalised advice
No guide on this site knows anything about you. What is suitable depends on your experience, fitness, the terrain and weather you meet, the duration of your trip and your own body. Two people can walk the same route in the same conditions and need different footwear.
Nothing here is instruction in a technical skill. Moving through steep, exposed or winter terrain carries real risk, and equipment is only one part of managing it. If you are heading somewhere you are not qualified for, take a course or go with someone experienced rather than relying on an article.
Accuracy and change
Manufacturers revise specifications, materials and constructions without notice, and retailers change stock constantly. We aim to be accurate when we publish and to correct errors when they are found, but we cannot guarantee that every detail remains current.
